A good way to tell how badly the COVID virus is affecting the Truckee Meadows is to look at the number of people hospitalized for COVID infections, and how many of these people need intensive care beds. The Nevada Hospital Association supplies our model with statistics so we can see if the demand for hospital bed and intensive care beds is increasing and if this is straining our resources.
